We are seeking volunteers to serve as facilitators and scribes throughout the 2023 APTA House of Delegates. Volunteer roles and responsibilities are listed below. Please sign-up if you are interested in one or both volunteer positions.
Volunteers will serve one of the following roles:  
  • Facilitator: Facilitate small groups of 10 delegates to engage in a discussion about the future potential for the House of Delegates and report on the group discussion during a meeting of the House of Delegates.
  • Scribe: Document feedback during small group discussions about the future potential for the House of Delegates.
Eligibility and skill requirements: 
  • Facilitator: The ability to facilitate a group discussion, keep group focused and on task, and ensure that all voices at the table are heard. Inclusivity is key to these discussions. The facilitator will also report out during a meeting of the House of Delegates.
  • Scribe: The ability to identify and document key points of the discussion.
Volunteers must attend a mandatory training session on July 11 and be in attendance at the onsite APTA House of Delegates July 23 -24 to lead the small group discussions and take part in the report out.
All delegates, in particular those that are new to the House, are encouraged to volunteer. This is an excellent opportunity for newer delegates to engage with House colleagues in a smaller discussion format.  
Once signed up, APTA staff will contact volunteers via email to clarify role preference and relay more information on or before June 30.
