APTA Private Practice - Student Council Representative 2026

APTA Student Council is a national community of component volunteers tasked to promote member engagement in the association. Each APTA chapter and section or academy selects one representative to the council. Council representatives will also be eligible to run for leadership roles within the Council. The APTA Private Practice Section is seeking one student member in good standing to serve a 1-year term as our Student Council representative.  Terms begin January 1, 2027 and only student members of APTA Private Practice can apply.

Responsibilities:

• Engage members across the association, increasing member value.
• Collaborate with other council representatives to highlight best practices and empower success.
• Meet at least quarterly as a council.
• Select delegates to the House of Delegates.
• Select council steering group and chair through annual elections process.
• Participate in council activities at CSM.
• Implement council initiatives at the component level.
• Seek opportunities for involvement within our chapter/section/academy.
• Serve as ambassadors for our chapter/section/academy and APTA.
• Participate in a minimum of 70% of the virtual meetings as scheduled throughout the year.
  

Travel Expenses:  APTA Private Practice will provide a travel stipend of $1000 for the representative to attend the council meetings at CSM which will be held on Feb 3, 2026.  The representative is responsible for making their own travel arrangements.  Travel stipend will be sent within 30 days of attendance at the event.
